32BJ SEIU, the largest property service workers union in the country, with 163,000 members in eleven states and Washington, D.C., endorsed Mayor Marty Walsh.
The following statement can be attributed to Roxana Rivera, Vice President of 32BJ SEIU:
“On behalf of the 18,000 men and women that make up our union in the Greater Boston area, we are proud to endorse Boston Mayor Marty Walsh in his re-election bid. Mayor Walsh has demonstrated a commitment to support working people and protect the most vulnerable among us. He stood against President Trump’s unjust Travel Ban and has continued to advocate on behalf of Boston’s Dreamers and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) as the Trump administration moves to end the program. His commitment to serving all Bostonians has protected thousands in our city and we are confident that he will continue to support progressive policies as our mayor. We look forward to working with Mayor Walsh to ensure that Boston remains a city that welcomes all.”
Statement of Mayor Marty Walsh:
“The hard working men and women of SEIU 32BJ are part of the backbone of Boston, and I am honored to have their support. Together, we will continue to fight for more good paying jobs, a $15 minimum wage, and an economy where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. ”
